Seeing how it's March, I think I need an all manual small flash for my C35, which has flashmatic. If you've haven't used flashmatic, you kind of need flash output within a certain range, and 12 GN looks good to me. This is the update to the Holga 120 flash, which is different..

Durability? Opinions?

I’ve been using two Holga flash units (12MF), the type you indicated but without the colored gells (12MFC), with a Fuji GW690II and a Nikon Nikomat EL. The GN using Tri-X is right on target. Both have been reliable going on a few years now and cheaply priced at the time for around $10 each. What’s outstanding about these flash units are they are a copy of an Osram Sunny Boy. In small rooms they give a direct flash with the added feature of bounce flash due to the nature of the reflector and diffuser. If one can properly use GN’s the results are excellent for such a small flash. Keep in mind the flash has a trigger voltage of 230 volts so it might not be advisable to use it on a modern digital camera although I’ve used it without consequences on my Nikon D70 and Ricoh GRD IV.

BTW: Ranchu, are you Randy Chu from Pearl River ?

Thank you very much for the good information, George! I'm sorry, that's the second time someone asked me that here, but I'm somebody else entirely. A ranchu is a kind of a fat goldfish.

:D

Thanks for your help!
