Cool idea!
I'd love to see a square aps-c based sensor, with the lens projecting in a circle juuuust big enough to cover the edges of the sensor to achieve the same vignette as a film holga. lens must be low contrast, with high resolution center and a fast dropoff to the edges. Make the sensor reeeaaally reflective so you get weird flares and low contrast spots etc..

I really like the concept, so long as it does render in a Holga-esque way.
How long until somebody says it needs to be M-mount, with a rangefinder, weatherproofed, 21MP and less than $1000 or they won't buy it?

Yes, a square sensor would be cool. Be fun to use a Lensbaby Composer as the lens.

I like it! But the iPhone has kind of beaten it to the punch...
Great concept... but such a tease.

Figured I'd show you guys this.
They released a 25mm f/8 Holga Lens for M 4/3. (50mm Equivalent)
The Digital Pen series can shoot in square format. Anywho, the output is nearly impossible to tell the difference from a film Holga.
Here's some example shots (not mine):
Can buy them here: http://cgi.ebay.com/HOLGA-HLW-OP-wi...era_Lenses&hash=item3cb76fe89b#ht_1908wt_1141

Or...
You can get a $5 50mm no-name brand lens that matches the adapter you already have, and rub vaseline on the front element, leave the center alone.
I bet the result will look like Holga as well
