Holiday Camera Set Up - Whatcha shootin'?

for the nice intimate holliday shots, i'll use my nikon 300mm/f4.5 ais lens --- on the f4 with ilford 400 pushed to 1600 --- minimum focus is about 7 feet -- yeah, that'll be fun pointing that at everyone during the family dinner....

oh yeah, and my metz flash bracket to light them up ---- nothing like a good mid 80's vintage metz flash bracket for this

D700 plus my F3 with tri X and neopan, 28 AIS and a 50 1.4.
A Canon S100 and a Yashica TL electro its with a 50 1.7 I just found in the drawer at my dad's house!

For this holiday season, I will try 2 new things.
Fuji Acros 100 asa Black and White film, along with a flash onto my Nikon FM3a.
Have never tried this film before and never ever used flash either.
With that - happy holidays to everyone of RFF.

For parties tonight and tomorrow it'll be the Fujifilm X10 with a Tiffen soft/fx filter mounted on it and the flash set at -2/3, Velvia (color set at -1).

whole family

After 13 yrs my whole family will be here at home so the big boss has dictated a group photo. Aaaaaahhhha.

and an x-pro 1 for when it's not :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful end of year!

I'm going to head into NYC on Christmas evening and shoot largely empty streets. Did it a few years ago and was surprised how dead the city was that night.

I'm taking my Mamiya 6 loaded with Delta 3200.

I recently picked up a Nissin 622 ii flash, which has the dual benefits of TTL and wireless (and both!) with my Canon 7D, while also having a PC sync and full manual mode. I hooked it up to my Rolleiflex with a flash handle and soft box, and my better half said "what is that? Those just don't look like they belong together!". However, the negs tell a different story, they look great! I might consider trying the flash with my M6, but it will be a bit top heavy, and the Leica still has half a roll of Tri-x at ISO 800 with the C-Sonnar on it, hence no real need for it's own light source.

Cheers and Happy Holidays everyone,
Rob

Opening presents tonight at Wife's parents house, so Sony DCS W5 will do the job. Was going to take my SRT101/Eastman XX with 28mm F3.5 MC Rokkor, but I looked, and couldn't quickly find an appropriate flash (I was looking for my Minolta Electroflash I).

I won't be taking xmas shots, but I'm off to SF on the 28th.

After much deliberating I decided that I'd leave all the bulky stuff at home, and take just the RX100 and a T3, I suspect it'll be a remarkably competent pairing.

Same as last year : I will be using the Noctilux and M9.
Family gatherings tend to be shot in available darkness.
Has to be color as no one appreciates or understands B&W.

I just spooled up some rolls of double-x for the rest of the holidays. I'll probably use my F6 for the gift opening, looking forward to checking my brain at the door when using iTTL flash.

For Christmas morning, D700, 50mm 1.4 and a SB600 flash. I'll also keep my M7 loaded with 400 speed film (whatever I've got on hand) and a 35 Summilux or 35 UC Hexanon.

If my knee hols up I'd like to take the Fuji G670M with the 100AE for a spin. Might be even the first time that camera saw any film.
