As the differences to the basic model can be elminated with some electrical tape and a Giotto screen saver, I went cheap and bought just a "used / like new" M9. I was tempted for some time with the M9P though, enjoy, no regrets and put it to use. Have you odered a backup battery? That a must have !

It's a nice camera, as beautifully finished as my M2. I too ignored what might be around the corner. M2 isn't obsolete in 50 years so the M9-P will do for some years too. The only thing I don't like is the deficient lower frame line for the 50. Still trying to see it and always using the 75 line accidentally instead. And it's so unnecessary that it is incomplete as the shutter speed read-out is still well below there. Not keeping my M8 as I never had one. Which leaves the option of an M9M..........
