Holy Crap! Check Out DPREVIEW!!!

Please Do!!

Please Do!!

:eek:UK prices for 5DII are 69% dearer than US list price:eek:

Its cheaper for me to fly from London to NY for the weekend to buy the camera.... now there's an idea!

SL,

Please do, we need your money over here.

Just for giggles, pick up an old Canon SLR that is dead and carry it over just in case someone stops and asks if you had that camera with you when you went. Have the boxes and stuff mailed back and you should be clear.

If you really want to help, please come to Chicago and buy it here (the state where I live). Now if you really want to stretch your pounds, check out buying it just north of here in Milwaukee and you will pay 6% less sales tax than you do in NYC, 5% less than you pay in Chicago.

Happy to put you up for a night or two if you'd like. Drop me an email.

** Maz and Thomas have lots of room for all!

....Not quite sure about that double-stacked dial though.

I hadn't even looked at the G10, as i had been looking forward to the 5DIIfor so long. But, i LOVE the double-stacked dial. A dedicated dial for ISO on a digicam is a wonderful thing. I wish the 5DII had it, instead of the cheesy 'function' dial....

Bill, SL should buy his camera in the Chicago area instead. Sales tax in Chicago is now 10%.

I guess it's still less than buying the gizmo at home for SL.

In any event, yes, come here and leave your cash with us! :)

Fly into Philly (PHL) and drive down to Delaware, where there is no sales tax at all. I'm sure Cameras Etc. would love your business...

It's pantry-shelf liner. A thin film of opaque vinyl with adhesive backing. Comes in many lurid colours and designs, and black.

Neat idea! Nothing says "I'm no threat" better than a plastic checkerboard camera. :D

old FF 5D, perhaps from other hobbyist like me, less than 5k frames behind. that would be interesting and affordable :)
