I am a member of a UK postal club,and this Formula was published in the Club Handbook in 2001.
I thought it may be of interest to those of you with more experience than myself.It looks quite simple to me,hence my Post yesterday for dry chemical supply sources.
I would be interested to hear any views and opinions about the formula.

Maybe when I run out of this bottle of Rodinal I'll invest in the 2-bath formula.

So timings are the same for all films??? What about continuous tone for Ortho film (EI 10)?

There was another description of this formula and method in a quarterly newsletter from the Club,and going over that as well,no mention was made of adjustment for different films.As far as your other query,I couldn't begin to answer.

His articles were illustrated by thumbnails of shots taken with TriX,Agfa APX 400,and APX 25,-- a 'broadish' cross section.

Hmmmm I have 6 bulk rolls of APX 400 , Might just be worth having a play with this formula at some stage , Cheers Brian .

Interesting simple formula. I used to mix my own "diafine" with hydroquinone and phenidone in place of the metol, more or less. It was a bit of a faff though, once someone started importing real diafine.

Be interested to see how you get on with this though. (And would have sent some chemicals with your J12 if I'd seen the other post!)

You can get a similar effect with dilute Rodinal (1:100) by draining and filling tank with water and leaving 20% of dev time without agitation.

The two bath process works differently from a water bath and will block the highlights less. Thin/thick emulsion films will react differently to either.

Try it out time...
