Post just anything related to homelessness, film, digital, Rangefinder, DSLR, toy camera, smartphone. Color or black and white.
Pay tribute to the poor, the ignored, the rejected, the ones left behind by a cruel, greedy world.

Thank you,
bumped into this scene at Toronto Union station. Older lady is asking younger lady how soon younger one is heading back to hometown. Years ago I was surprised to see young homeless like this in UK.
In Toronto they have shelters for homeless, bu many choose to sleep outside.
This is typical Toronto:

I call it - Waiting for the falling of manna.

Yours recent two in the Gallery deserved to be here as well. Very strong images with special, timeless rendering.

Photographing homeless people is a sensitive subject matter. I wouldn't take a picture of somebody homeless unless I genuinely was trying to help out these poor people in need.

Of course, it is easier just to ignore homelessness, but a first step to help out is to show reality as it is.
War photojournalism helped actually out to stop some wars in the past. That is the reason why now war atrocities since 911 are being hidden from the public...

Does anyone not know what homelessness is? These pictures are not informing anyone about homelessness, they are simply exploiting the most vulnerable people in society for your viewing pleasure. They do not belong in this forum just as pornography doesn't belong here. We are better than this.

Indeed, we are much better than your response!
Apparently homeless photos are showing a reality you need to work out! And what specifically do you have against pornography?

Yeah... no. There's no "pleasure" to it. It simply makes visible what we normally either can't, or choose not to, see.

It seems odd that you equate social awareness with prurient sexual arousal.

Or, this is us at our best.

Can a mod remove all posts which have nothing to do with the original post by OP.
I want to view images, not someones hypocritical view on life.....and once the mod is done you can remove this post as well.
Cheers.

This thread was always going to be like this (contentious) ... that should have been obvious to the OP and the people choosing to post in it. I've spent time photographing a group of homeless people and didn't have issue with photographing them but personally I have never felt that a thread devoted to the subject would be appropriate here.

Agreed. It took all of 4 hours to turn into an ethical debate. If you want to discuss the ethics of photographing homeless people, you're welcome to start a thread.
