Probably the most honest eBay description I've ever seen!

Me too... But the wife would kill me! It would cost more than the camera's worth to put it right.
If it goes cheap enough it would make a very classy paper weight.

I might actually bid on that! It's too bad its in england with the exchange rate. I've always wanted a wartime leica.. I don't care if it works or not!

Feels like a backwards psychology trick to me: "no, you don't want this" the seller says and then just about everyone gets all fuzzy and screams "I want it, I want it!" and brings out their checkbooks.

smart a*s, that IIIc does look like a dog to me and no I don't need ugly camera like that.......it's not even working. Let's say you put in US200 to have it repaired plus maybe US80 (just wild guess), would many people really want to spend $280 for a dog IIIc? I'd rather believe the seller tells it as it is, than play the role of smart a*s.

Most probably the seller is just (brutally) honest. But the thought of the smart*ss angle was the first that passed through my head. I guess it's just me looking at one too many ebay auctions...
But it definitely is a quite different description compared to many others I've seen.
