You may be right about the 12585 hood fitting the more modern Summaron you linked to. I do know that older Summaron 35/3.5 lenses used a clamp on hood and somewhere in the production run they were threaded for accessory use as your more moder on shows. This is a confusing issue with these lenses.

There are two constructions of summaron 35's, the first looks like a collapsed elmar and has a 36mm front ring, they are all screw thread fitting.
The second construction is predominently bayonet fit and look like a summicron 35f2, these have a 42mm front ring the same as summicrons.
I think lee has purchased the first type, and the correct hood is like Joe's.
All the other hoods mentioned, itooy, irooa, 12585, etc fit the later 42mm front, and won't fit the small front.

There is nothing "collapsable" about the Summaron 35/3.5, they are just very compact and can be good performers. I reaaly enjoy mine for that reason. I can't say anything about hoods because I have not got one. Hope you really enjoy that Summaron.
Bob
They do look superficially like a "collapsed" 50mm Elmar.
But, more to the point, I have and use both a bayonet "M" mount and a LTM screw thread version of this venerable lens, and I find that I don't really need a shade, as the front lens elements are fairly deeply recessed in a black cone and this actually serves as a mini-shade in itself. You might get a few (very few) degrees more shading with an add on shade.

Yes, Joe's picture shows a FOOKH, and it will fit, so will a FLQOO, and a 12505.

Joe, try a 12505, it's the same thing but it might not have all that embarrassing writing on it.
It's only a guess, 'cause I've never seen one myself, but if you come across one it might go cheap if no-one knows what it really is.

I use a Walz clamp-on squarish lens hood that fits the 35/3.5 like a glove.
