Hi,

could anyone give me the dimensions (diameters, length, thickness) of the hood for a Distagon 50 C (the Hasselblad one)? A friend of mine has a 3D printer, I can have some parts if I supply the design. So I thought I could make a slip-on version, and perhaps a more efficient square version like the hood for the CF lenses. It would be much more fun than blowing 20 or 30 Euros for a darn hood. 😛

I could probably help, but it would take me a bit.

In the meantime, a couple of quick thoughts. First, it is a very simple hood. There is nothing terribly complex regarding its shape. Second, the original threads rather than bays onto the lens -your idea of a slip on should work fine, but... Third, the OD of the lens is a bit "flared" right where you would be slipping the hood on and that may prove to be a challenge.

Yes, the original is very simple, easy to model. I was thinking about a slip-on because the threads are much more difficult to make.

A slip-on on the filter threads should work, but I was also thinking about fitting in on the barrel (like the lens cap).

I should also find some paper to make a model for a square hood.
