I picked up my beautful Hexar RF this morning, courtesy of awilder. I brought a lens to work with me so I could try it out, but I forgot to bring some film, so I'll have to wait until I get home to shoot a test roll. After shooting some blank frames though, I really like the feel of it.

I thought it would feel weird not having to advance lever, but I didn't miss it at all. Also, I found it to be quieter than some reviews had lead me to believe. It's probably because if you're looking through the VF, it's right up against your face, so it's hard to tell. I'll be taking it home with me this weekend for a family party and our town's Memorial Day parade. This is my first metered camera (my other options were M6 or Zeiss ZI), and I feel I made the right choice.

I'm glad you like the camera Steve, you'll find it very easy to use with a short learning curve. The AE lock and built-in motor make it one the fastest shooting M bodies out there especially in continuous advance mode. The top shutter of 1/4000 comes in handy with high speed film when you want to use a larger aperture.

A question for Hexar users: Do I need to trim my bulk-roll film to have the standard leader, or can I leave it squared-off? I'm used to using the M3, where it makes no difference.
