anybody had time to read the new terms of service with regard to the impending sale of yahoo and how it will effect users on flickr?
i remember a few years ago many people left flickr for other hosting sites.
i'm always curious about these changes, who stays, who moves, and opinions on which sites are preferred these days.
thanks

After Blogger broke many of my older full-size images, I got my own domain and private hosting. I've started a gallery there but one project for a long rainy Thursday is to move the blog (and recover the original images) and move it to Wordpress there.
Also on my plans is to move my Flickr stuff (most of it is dead storage for various images but there are a number of 'good" shots there too) over there as well.
I'll need to keep Flickr as long as they keep supporting externally linked images, as most of the stuff I post here and on other systems is actually stored there.

Flickr is not bad at all. I've started a blog on WordPress, but I find it very complicated and user unfriendly.

Blogger and Blogspot are one and the same. I'm p*ssed at them because they changed things and people can no longer view many of my images full size. I've complained into a black hole!

I use flickr for a catchall and backup storage, but run my site on squarespace and am very happy with it. I looked into using wordpress, but squarespace fits all my needs.

Thanks for your responses-
I too have my own site which functions as an archive of my artworks- painting, printmaking, photography, as well as a blog which allows me to write and share various aspects of my practice, and exhibitions i visit.
i use Flickr as a place to share a variety of photographs, some of which i share here and on Tumblr and Twitter; I set up an Instragram account but haven't used it for posting images at this point, but like being able to follow others and see what they are posting.
It seems like different people check in on the various platforms, sticking to ones they like and don't bother with others. In the end, there is a lot to see with no shortage of good work being shown and shared.

I more or less stopped posting photos on sites that require 3rd party hosting... just a personal preference.
