These threads often become polarized because one person's conjecture doesn't fit with the original poster's conjecture and the OP gets offended because our fantasy camera ideas don't match when it should all be taken tongue-in-cheek.

Not to step on any dreams here, but I don't think turning it into a Kick Starter project would really have much of a chance of success even if you won 10 million dollars to finance most of it.....The end product would be too expensive (not to mention for a limited niche market).
For me the R-D2 would be:
Same body + control layout
A Full-size sensor.
Descent battery life.
Able to handle larger SD cards

Funny guy, got any other suggestions? I have, make your own troll thread.
Or get a life, adios.
No point in continuing this thread now the attention seekers have taken hold.
Business as usual for RFF then.
What kind of response is this?
What is wrong with the post you're digging at?
Fantasy thread can't have a fantasy post?
Weird...

The best camera is one that still works!
And while we're being totally fanciful I'd like mine delivered by Audrey Tautou.

What's the big deal? I recall getting one for Christmas in the 1970s.

I think this deserves another thread:
"Torn: should my next RF be delivered by Audrey Tautou or Farrah Fawcett (70s version)"

... if it's the 70's version then it's no contest ... Maria Schneider every time, well as long as she keeps the butter off the sensor

There's having a light hearted wish and then there's taking the piss. Nothing weird about that except childish trolling from whom I guess is an adult. It's supposed to be a fun 'dream', and a look at others thoughts and expectations.

What you read as a negative post, I read as a light-hearted fantasy.

Another R-D2 thread? jeez...
I love the camera. But let's face it, it will never ever gonna happen.

No Get Well cards please
I'd buy one. I've sold my new-ish Nikon gear and switched to fuji-x system. I'd sell that to have an RD2. I still play with my RD1. It feels nice in hand.. I'd just like a bit more resolution. Cheers, dd

My future R-D2 would have to be delivered in person by either Juliette Binoche, Julie Delpy, or Irene Jacob - for those who have seen the trilogy Three Colours Blue, White, Red...

Maybe the Epson upgrade that needs to come first, should be an improved service and support policy.

Go on Epson, what do you say, full frame, slightly longer baseline, live view/focus peaking, a separate EVF ,same analogue controls and dials? The Nikon Df failed to deliver so it's up to you to do the right thing now.
I'd be there........
my RD2 should be :
- 35/50/90 single frameline
- 0.72x VF, better ebl
- same control layout, same flipped lcd, same top analog display
- interchangeable sensor module (kind of gxr but from the back, more like 645D), with sensor choise of : Foveon, Monochrome, X-trans
- thinner body.
If you want 1:1 vf with 50/90/135 , then call it RD3

RD-2?
Sure.
But bring out at least one variant: RD2S with a Nikon S mount and I'll buy one in a second.
