HI,
I am having a vexing time trying to figure out how to use my LTM Hektor 135/4.5.
You see, I find the images too soft even for portraiture. This could be a combination of factors: the lens is soft at wide apertures or handshake due to low shutter-speed, grainy film etc. My observation is that above f8, fine-grain film with shutter speed faster 1/100 (or tripod), produces optimal shooting condition ?
(I thought about the possibility that the Lens is defective or camera rangefinder focusing, but I think it is more likely due to my poor technique than anything else).
An example can be found here,

(I ruled out the rangefinder faults because the other 50mm shots are okay, and the 135mm pictures are consistently soft. I think this was shot at f5.6, at 1/100, the film used was Tmax which produced lots of grain when developed with Rodinal)
Can you share with me how are you using your hektor 135/4.5, landscape or portrait; sample shots with comments on the exposure settings would be much appreciated.
