How did you guys get started...

I took a high school class in photography. My Dad got me a Pentax SF1 and a couple zoom lenses. (I still have the lenses). While I never had the desire to switch to digital, it wasn't until I finished grad school and was planning a vacation that I had started to take a more critical look at photography.

Web researches can quickly lead one to Stephen Gandy's or Karen Nakumura's sites as well as the Kodachrome project. While I thought the Canon QL 17 GIII would serve the need for new gear, that didn't last long, and the Canon was quickly joined by the Bessa R.

My family has cyclically been interested in photography. Years ago, my maternal grandfather had a Barnack Leica and 3 lenses. The body and summitar got stolen when traveling in Europe in the 1960s. It was replaced by an M3 and DR summicron, which I use today.

how it happened?!

how it happened?!

Well, bought an 8x10 a garage sale and forced myself to learn all there was about photography and movements.
Over time, went to 4x5, then 35mm, then 6x6, then digital, then.....

Well for a long time now I have been wandering aound with my MP/35mm/asph and a Fuji GSW690III in a small backpack and never looked back since!
