How did Zeiss get spanked on DXOMark?

Looks like someone read your post and wrote an article without giving you any credit. I have a hard time believing that the writer of this article didn't happen to read this thread.

fantastic, another website (blog) to ignore.

if the dude is happy with a canon 50mm f1.8 (lol) then let him be. but this is not an article, this is a blog.

you see, if he was writing an article he would have gone out and gotten some lenses (probably by renting it on the expense account of the publication he worked for) and would have spent some time seeing if his results corroborated what the tests said. he would provide some test shots and talk about other issues in image quality like fall off.

but he did none of that. he just parroted what some other website said. but I suppose that IS what passes for journalism now a days. normally I wouldnt jump so hard on a blogger, but this one calls himself a journalist, so it's fairly deserved IMO.

cant speak to zeiss lenses though, as I dont own any. boy, that's hard to do lolololol.

Well, my opinion on this is that there is a market for Zeiss lenses, and a market for Canon/Nikon/Sigma lenses. If Zeiss prefers manual focus and actually build such lenses, it means that there is a demand and a real economical reason to do so. Whoever can do as many tests as they want, it's not going to change the point of view of some professionals, who are certainly too busy to read such questionable articles 🙂
