How do I light this?

We've all seen this type of lighting/shadow setup. How do I set this up? Thanks!

Big projector (or projecting light), and a "gobo" - i.e. a metal sheet with slits cut or etched in. Can be rented at every better stage and film lighting service.

Improvised, it can be sort of done with sunlight and venetian blinds.
