How do I load these reels?

I have 35mm and 120mm reels that look like the below image but I am unsure how to attach the film to the centre axis/core.

There is a circular clip in the middle. The clip has a hole into which a little pin on the reel's axis fits. This prevents the clip from rotating around the axis. There are also two stainless steel pins which are extensions of the reel's spirals (see the left reel in the image).

Any assistance most gratefully accepted.
