Hi

I am new in the rangefinder world, but I have decided that I want one after borrowing my friends Leica M6 for some days now.
I have found a guy who is selling an M6 with a 35 summicron lense, but the only thing is, that I don't see which version the lense is. I think it is the 35 Summicron F2 Type 4, which is the one I want, but I am not sure, and he is not sure either.
Can anyone help me out? This is the ad I'm talking about: http://www.dba.dk/leica-m6-meget-velholdt-le/id-68589921/

Thank you.

Best regards,
Magnus

Summicron

Summicron

It is the type 4 , rectangular hood with tab that indexes with slot on lens to orientate it . That is the clue , and the front of the glass .
Also first type m6 made in wetzlar so also desirable .

The hood looks like a v4, as it doesn't easily fit on a v3 because of some indexing notches at the top and bottom, although you can modify the v4 rect hoods to fit other summicrons.

One site says v4 started around s/n: 2974252 and later up to the end of the pre-asphs around ~1979 to ~1996

The yellow 35 on the barrel confirms that it's v4.

Make sure you don't only get the winder (useless if you ask me) but also a regular baseplate with the camera.

Thank you so much everyone. I think the price is very good, he will agree to go to 11.000 DKK which is $1928 or 1477 euro.
There is a regular bottom plate with the camera, don't worry. I won't be using the winder. Actually I am only buying to get the camera and the summicron.
Thanks again, I appreciate your help!

Regards,
Magnus
