How do you clean a lens ?

Simple issue - what do you do to clean the front element
When it gets a little dirty ( external side)

I try to blow or brush off any particles
Then use a drop of lens cleaning fluid on a microfiber cloth
Then wipe lightly in circular motion from the center out

I used to use those little packets of paper lens tissue (a long time ago)

What's the current best practice?

Rocket blower, Cotton buds + lens cleaning fluid , lens pen at the end- this works for me best

Ok, I'm afraid I've derailed the thread with my smart@ss comment about the dishwasher.

After using a brush to dislodge as much as I can, I use a drop of lens cleaning solution (or methyl alcohol) and gently smear it around with my ring finger tip, and then gently wipe it off with a microfiber cloth.

Using your ring finger doesn't allow you to use as much force as your index finger, and your wet fingertip will never scratch the coating, it'll just dislodge any remaining particles.

I really use my t-shirt so I know I will keep my lens (the one left) forever..
