I mix mine up into a 2L container, a 1 L container and 4 200 mL conbtainers. Good for various dilutions and sizes of tanks.
In the US, gallon-size containers (3.8 L) are common. Not here.

I put my gallon of D-76 stock into eight 16oz. brown Grolsch beer bottles from my old homebrewing days, with ceramic-and-gasket clamp tops. One bottle for a 4-reel tank at 1:1, half a bottle for a two-reel tank (use the second half within a week). Matches my pace with film.
And no, I don't homebrew anymore, so no danger of mixing up the IPA with the chemicals.

If you can't get a gallon jug a 4L bottle should work just fine. Leave a space the same volume as a small fist to account for the 200 mL.

I have an old glass jar that will hold 4 liters. This is my mixing "bowl" and once all of it has dissolved I pour it into a couple of 2 liter bottles(brown plastic ones)
Start with 3 liters of 50C+ water and slowly pour the content into the jar while stirring (don't "whip" it as that will add oxygen to the mix) slowly. Let it sit for 1/2 hour or so until everything is clear and add cold water to the 3.8 l volume - then pour the into the smaller bottles. If you are worried about about floating specks etc, filter it through a lab filter or even a coffee filter.
The filled, sealed 2 liter bottle will last 3-4 weeks, the one you are using has a lifespan of about 10-14 days. D 76 doesn't "die" - it gets more active and the grain builds up very fast if it is sitting too long. After 4 weeks I dump any left over though - just in case.

I use a hardware store plastic bucket for the actaul mixing then transfer it to old 4ltr wine cask bladders.

...after giving the wine a proper transfer of it's own.
Best developer storage ever! Xtol lasts a long long time in a wine bladder in the fridge..

This process has been known to cause the odd headache ... using old purified water casks that they sell in the supermarkets here is less injurious! 😛
