How do you set the film speed on a Calculite XP Light Meter?

I just got my calculite xp and I am reading the manual but I cannot get the film speed to change. Can anyone help me out.

Mine neither. Exactly as the g'man says. You do need to let the plate & ring go when your fingers run out of space and grip them from the other end of the finger slot to keep them turning.
