How do you store your cameras?

A while ago I tried storing some cameras in an unusual way ... I was living in a rather damp spot that produced plenty of mildew on all sorts of things. I sealed a few bodies up with one of those food vaccuum sealers that draws all the air out and heat seals the bag! 😀

Our full frame gear for weddings is in or around a backpack. The D3000 I've been using lately is somewhere in the living room. The FZ7 is in a chest somewhere else. I'm looking forward to selling it all (except for the FZ7) this fall! In the next couple of weeks, I'm going to order an x100 or x100s, and that'll just be kept wherever I put it down. I can't wait : D

i use two clear plastic rubbermaid bins which sit on a table next to my bookcase. one for my nikkors, oly stylus and random lens caps, the other for my CL and nikon F. nice and simple, keeps me from buying extra gear as well.

Plastic Storage containers in a dedicated closet. I remove all lenses and have them in containers also. It's dry in Arizona so I don't need to worry about much. If it's a camera I don't shoot often I remove the battery. Simple system that works for me.

In a huge Pelican 1634 case with padded dividers. I put a few reusable silica gel canisters inside.

That's my method.

My cameras go in Pelican boxes with silica gel packs, then the Pelican boxes go in a refrigerator size gun safe that has 2.5" thick steel walls, top and base and weighs 800 lbs. empty to prevent hit and run theft in case of a break-in.

That is one impressive collection you have (post #13)! Your home must have a comprehensive security system if you leave all your cameras in a glass case all the time, yes?

My security system consists of the gun safe and a 100 lb. German Shepherd/Golden Retreiver/Great Dane male. It has been 100% effective for 12 1/2 years... 😀

currently all in a short bookcase/cupboard thing next to my computer desk in my apartment. i keep ordering it nicely and it keeps going on and making itself all messy again.

one of these days i'm going to figure out some system (F mount stuff on this shelf, rangefinder equipment on this shelf, medium format on that shelf)...

I have a custom-made, glass-panelled, floor-to-ceiling cherry/mahogany cabinet. My wife thought it would be a great way to display her fine china... I thought different. I keep 28 of my best cameras in it, the rest of my stuff is stored in Rubbermaid tubs.

Dry box and exercise occasionally if you ever expect to use them.

I have disposed of all the M cameras except one M6, gave another to to my son. All the R cameras are on their way to Japan along with some lenses. I Kept some favorites and concerted them to Nikon mounts, 21 SA, 28 & 35 PC, 60 2.8, 100 2.8 APO. This is my R solution.

Store my cameras? Lenses? I know they're around here somewhere... I think they're in the basement. I'll see if I can go find one...

Actually everything I own now fits in two bags. Two digi-M bodies and five lenses fit in a Domke F2. My M4-2, Summicron 90, Elmarit 135, Visoflex II with a 65mm and a 90/135 focusing mount and a couple of flashes all store in a Domke F6. That is a very convenient setup.

And since my humble shooting studio lives in the basement, so do they.

Individual bag for each camera, to keep them together with their lenses and accessories. The bags go on a shelf. No worries about humidity where I am.

In the closet, in bags on the floor, on the desk, beside the computerscreen on the refrigerator and so on.

I don't have so many cameras so the ones I don't use are going to a friends - photographers' hands to be used - as a personal preference I like all my stuff to be busy working. Even my Hasselblad gets a portion of roll film every second week, just photographing my kiddo or something else.

I have a large Solid Wood Armoire with a divider in the middle, with movable shelves on each side.
One side is my "Chest-of-Draws" substitute,
The Other is where I store my gear... Top = Bats, Film, Flashes, middle = Camera and lenses, lower area = Gadget bags
