How do you store your film when in your bag?

This has been annoying me for a while now, usually carry 6-8 rolls around with me in my bag and when I've got so many floating around it can be annoying trying to figure out what's exposed and what isn't.

I'd love one of these Fujifilm cases but it appears they're no longer available anymore, anyone know of anything similar?

to save precious space in my small bag i also use that case, 2-rows of 5-rolls.. but sometimes i also bring the single-row 5-roll case (clear green in color). on slow days i only bring the single-row case. there is also a two-roll weather sealed case available (at least here in japan) if you tend to shoot slow. it has a clip that allows you to put it on your strap or something.

since i bulk load a case is a must, otherwise the caps on the plastic canisters tend to loosen up and i end up with light leaks if i just throw them in the bag.

Why not just throw a bunch of garden variety plastic canisters in whatever pouch will fit them?

I have a front pouch full of unexposed film. When it gets exposed I put it anywhere in the bag but the unexposed film pouch.

Maybe my life is easier because I only shoot one type of film? I could use this system for at least two though.
 
I bought one of these in Yodobashi Camera when they were available, and must admit that I don't find it useful as I rarely carry exactly 10 rolls. I find it more space conserving and flexible to have a system of one pocket with unexposed and another pocket with exposed. If I don't have 2 available pocket I use a small f64 black quilted lens pouch for the exposed rolls.
 
I just throw them in any old how. They're hardly delicate and it's pretty easy to tell an exposed roll if you rewind them fully after use.
 
In the meantime...

After I posted the bit about JCH's product I realized that something more my speed -- given my need to keep cashflow in the direction of high-leverage acquisitions -- would be a DIY solution, preferably using gaffer tape. :)

I don't see why this wouldn't go 6-8 rolls long for your needs. (Or longer? Be the Chewbacca of 35mm!) The only trick here was keeping the canisters alternating to make cap-removal a little easier.

For me, the loose-cans-in-a-pocket trick has fooled me too often, misjudging how much film I had left. Like the OP, I think a storage with a known number of rolls may possibly benefit me. Everybody to find the system that works for them :)
 
I also use the 2-5 Fuji case, normally equipped with a mixture of ISO 100,400,1600 B/W and 1-2 C-41 colour films.. the exposed cans go upside down into the case, so that it is easy to see what is left on unexposed films.
For MF I usually have the film loos in the bags when fresh and put them in these Adox cases when exposed.
 
bring a small roll of color tape, every exposed canister just stuck a piece of color tape on the canister and throw it in the bag, you'll never mistake which ones are exposed or not
 
A few years ago I bought a pair of super duper hiking underwear. It came in what has become my film bag. Works like a charm.

I agree but a gift is a gift and a bag is, well, a bag.:D
 
I put them in my bag, then I put them in the camera, and then I put them in my pocket ... I throw the box away at stage II so it's easy to tell which has been exposed

I just cannot understand spending money for something that is just as easy to solve DIY-style. For example the above idea, that's good!

I just put unexposed film rolls in one of the pouches, exposed ones in the other. Domke F2 has four of them to choose from.
In a hurry, like Keith mentioned, I just throw them in the bag, they are not that fragile.
 
Hummm.. I have one of those Fujifilm hardcases sitll sealed\packed... I bought the last one from Japan Camera Exposures, but never used it.

I normally only take one 35mm on my backpack and one loaded in the camera, the only thing I carry with me, is my Fujifilm 120 Hardcase with Tri-X... now that's a charm for me.

That's easy - shot of your daily film supply doesn't look as classy as in special film box.

For me 10 rolls together is little too much, so to say, thus I'm fine with two-three spares in pockets. If I need any more I can take off backpack. Also if my bag gets flooded or stolen, 10 rolls at once isn't what I'm asking for.
