Alberto Moreu used a Contax G2 + TLA200 for this.
I have a G2 and TLA200 with 45mm G Planar, used it with a new Portra 400 roll a couple of times, but never have I gotten this look.
His look is alot like Jurgen Teller, kind of washed out with gold or yellow in it. How does he do this? Post production? A typical film?
This is what I got out of it

I wonder if he isn't using a ring-flash to get that shadowless direct flash look. That was a very popular technique for fashion photography for a while.
It has been a very popular technique in fashion photography every other year, ever since I was a kid. Takes a power pack or even generator driven flash though - the pesky on camera ring flashes intended for macro photography max out at GN12 or something like that, the LED things are even weaker. So at the back of that snapshot look there will usually be a grid powered generator...

All now seems to be explained in the Flikr comments on his page.

I woiuld say, before going back to page to see those comments, that his flash is set at +1 relative to yours. Perhaps +2. Other than I don't see his being that much warmer than yours. The ring flash exclamation might be what I'm seeing. The difference definitely seems to be in the flash, to my eye. My first reaction to the shots was "He flashed the **** out of that".

lots of flash with some type of diffuser, I guess. It is too flat for me...

Plus one. I like your pictures moreI would think it's done in post or maybe with a gel on a flash. Truth be told I like the rendering of your images more. If you have a TLA360 it might be interesting to put a yellow gel on the large flash as a bounce and keep the direct small flash with no gel.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I thought I'd clarify how he gets the look he does.
The clue is all shots are scanned with the Fuji Frontier SP-3000, which has a very distinct look to all its scans. You won't get that look from automatic SP-3000 scans at Walmart but you will with a bit of effort from an experienced operator.
I have owned an Imacon, Nikon Coolscan, Pakon 135 and others and nothing comes close to getting that magical Fuji look. It's not to everyone's taste but overall most people who see the scans just love the colour.
This scanner is used at big name labs such as Richard Photo Lab and Indie Lab and of course hundreds of others.
Hope that helps anyone is scanning on something like an Epson V700 and wondering why they can't get the same look.
