I'm asking because I don't find it in the sidebar at the left; the only way I can get to the Evil SLRs forum is by choosing "Forums" in the sidebar, and then scrolling down in the main window until I find it. Apparently, it's left out in the sidebar between "Diana ..." and "Micro 4/3..".
Is it THAT evil as to not deserve a place in the sidebar
? Would be much easier to get there, and maybe THAT's exactly the reason why (on a Rangefinder forum (take not: with Capital
) ?
Stefan.

you would have to ask stephen, he makes those decisions.
if it were up to me there would be nothing but rangefinder forums here.

SLRs are assuredly not evil at RFF's sister site DSLReXchange
http://www.dslrexchange.com/
And it's even listed under "Cool Links" at lower left

If you write it with capital letters then the "evil SLR forum" is not EVIL at all. Or do you know a SLR with electronic viewfinder?

To be honest I consider RFF one of the nicest forums about all things related to analogue photography, including SLRs. Even if the focus is obviously on rangefinders.

I completely agree, and as it is, this is about the only photography-site I visit daily. There are a lot of kwowledgable people here with a lot of humour on top of it.
I don't think SLR's are evil (or the evel SLRs forum, for that matter, as long as they talk about Olympus OM cameras ans Zuiko lenses

Agree, although I came here initially to read about RFs before getting my own, I do also enjoy reading about medium format TLRs, SLRs, and film-related threads.

The best camera is one that still works!

All I can say to that is ... thank god it's not up to you!

I saw a bunch of Canon SLR's gang up on some Leica's and rip the film out of them.
Just evil, pure evil.

There is probably a scale of Evilishness (Evilosity?) and perhaps even a tool for measuring it (Evilommeter? Eviloscope?) that you could apply to that particular forum to actually measure the degree of Evil therein.
I gotta get out and take more pictures.....

Well gliderbee when I first joined, I didn't expect some other forums for SLR's, Holgas etcetera.
It's a bit like (in my opinion), when there is a forum for football [pardon me, soccer in America], and someone adds a small hockey forum somewhere with like "...yeah we love a bit of hockey too"

Alas, 'tis the nature of the beast. With all the good SLR brands there have been, there has to be at least one bad, dare I say, EVIL? one to show up the virtues of the rest.
In the nature of the thread, I have no problem with things the way they are. I am not sure what keeps this forum what it is, but I would be afraid to make any big changes for fear of that being what would change the forums. This place is truely unique. Why take a chance on changing it for the worse, no matter how innocent a change might seem?

Pity about Micro-43, Point'n'Shoot or TLRs, though.
My Nikon SLR's were too busy protecting the Nikon RF's.
And I think the Canon SLR's were mad at the Leicas for taking the the Canon 50/1.4 and Canon 50/1.2. The Nikons never get upset when the Leicas use the Nikkors in LTM, even let the Canons use them. The Nicca gets a Leitz Summar on it.
Evil, vindictive, and always rubbing salt in the wound about how SLR's took over the world.

as keith said earlier, it's a good thing that i'm not in charge.
i do enjoy other cameras, i have had slrs in the past, every major brand, in fact...tried tlr and currently have a great m4thirds kit.i would just prefer the simplicity of a one focus site.

Well, at least if you use Firefox you can install FFVB, which is basically an addon for customizing the look of vBulletin sites in your browser. Then you can turn RFF into a one-focus site for yourself, simply by hiding everything you don't like
