I haven't done tests, but in regular use I haven't been able to fault it. I often shoot wide open. Seems sharp it me. Great lens IMO.

many thanks, I just had to have it, I'm broke now but at £280 it just had to be mine, just had a look at the 35mm 1.4 thread, the images are great on that

Image output is superb. Value for price is also.
User experience and AF is a big meh...
I used my EF 50mm f1.8 on the 5D yesterday for the first time since 2012. A lens considered to be quite entry level in most regards.
It hits focus instantly and makes focus changes in small increments much faster and accurately than the XF35 on the Xpro1.
There is quite a way to go in terms of mirrorless AF performance. Image quality is first class with this lens though. Few are finer!
Cheers!

I find my Fuji XF 35mm f/1.4 (latest firmware 3.10 update) more than fast enough with my Fuji X-T1, honestly I don't think you'll be disappointed with it in terms of image quality and autofocus speed

It's not the speed that is a problem. The accuracy isn't always consistent, and the lens movement isn't smooth. There's a lot of back and fourth jittery movement when hunting for AF.
The AF behavior of many XF prime lenses aren't so great, but the 35mm might be the worst.

The xf 35mm f1.4 on an x-pro1 is far more accurate and sure footed than any of the 50's on a 5dmkIII - sorry to the posters above, but I'm quite personally sure of this. the f1.8, the f1.4 (especially this one with it's ****ing horrible autofocus accuracy, and the otherwise lovely f1.2L). My 35mm f1.4 is one of the more accurately focussing fast primes I've used.
As for IQ, I have no troubles using it in any situation. One of the better 50mm equivs.

I think the 35 1.4 makes it worth buying into the X series alone.
For me I'm with Galvinlg about the accuracy. I've rarely had any misfocused shots at all, but AF speed for me using an X-E1 is pretty rubbish, which I'd be fine with if they just put a distance scale on the lens barrel.

Worth noting that there are two questions about AF. Speed, and accuracy. Speed is not high. But accuracy is, according to DP review and others, unusually good.

Very sharp in the center at 1.4, pretty good overall at 2, excellent overall at 4 to 5.6. Low distortion and CA at any aperture.
