How I Did It: Neon sign at night

I've added a new Photoshop tutorial to my website, showing step-by-step how I created the photo above. This was a difficult photograph to make because of the extreme difference in brightness between the very bright neon sign and the much less brightly lit building exterior.

I ended up using two separate exposures, one for the sign and one for the rest of the image, but this is not an HDR image. I hate HDR, it always looks blotchy and strange. I wanted the photo to look exactly how it looked in real life.
