Hey All,

We have all read the stories about those great thrift store finds; well finally here's mine.

I've seen some buzz on the Minolta AF-C here and a few places on the internet so that I recognized it when I saw it on the shelf in the local thrift store. I was unsure of whether to buy it as most things are as is and are usually busted. I went ahead and bought the camera, brought it home and cleaned the battery compartment after taking out the old crusty batteries. Put in some new ones and NOTHING. :bang:

I was dissapointed, but what do you expect for $4.99. I poked and prodded the camera and then put it back down. I popped the batteries out and was sitting here trying to decide what to do. Then looking down into the compartment, I realized that I had put the batteries in backwards. Hope against hope, I put the batteries back in correctly and the AF-C sprang to life. Now I was relieved and quite pleased. Checked and the shutter is working along with the self timer. Encouraged I moved on to the flash. Cleaned and with fresh batteries and it too sprang to life. Now I just need to shoot some film and see how it performs. :D

I've had a chance to do a quick search for info on the Minolta AF-C and I have not been able to come up with much. Does anyone have any info on or experience with this camera? I would love to know more.

Thanks

I bought one on ebay a while back, It worked on and off and I got frustrated and tossed it since it was so cheap. I was bummed as it seemd to be a fum camera to use.
