went on a rangefinder hunt today. Hit the local and not so local used and chairty shop. Hit a couple of (you know the Type) antique malls. Found some real sweat deals (ya right). Hi-matic F 39.00, Haminex or something like that realy beat 29.00, Aurgus (oldy with dials like gears) 75.00 but the beat was the well used (being nice now) Zorki for $275.00 plus tax. Now I need a bath as I feel like I just spent my first night in the state penn

I know how you feel. It's always a crap shoot at my local flea market, usually it's crap. Sometimes you can find a good one. I got my Canonet for $10. and a few weeks ago missed out on a Canon A-1 w/50mm f/1.4 for $25. by mere seconds. :bang:
 
The used shop/flea market scene in Toronto is terrible. I've never found a good camera in those places. I've bought a few from local sellers via Ebay, but never fleatail
 
You could try Zote soap from sunny Mexico. You won't need anything else. It is great for your hair, it is cheap, it will make you nice and clean, and it smells like citronella or a little like lemon. At least I'm told it does. You can also wash your clothes and dishes with it. It won't help your flea market situation, but as soap goes, it is a good guy's soap. I shower with it every day.

I bought a Nikonos II this week w/35 and 80mm lenses: $15.
And today I scored a Nikon coolpix800 for $50.
I am you father, Luke.
 
The Nikon M with first run 5cm F1.4 for $30 could pay for a lifetime supply of soap.

I come up with nothing most of the time, but it's still fun and worthwhile. Last week I hit an Olympys RC for $10. Have to replace the foam and the lens has a few marks on it. But not enough to replace it with one from a parts camera. The entire 42mm F2.7 lens is a module that sits in front of the shutter/aperture.
 
I agree about the hunt for a great deal being a lot of fun. The key is to feed with the vultures. Most of the good deals are found at estate / garage sales. People that deal in antiques spend plenty of time at family sales buying things cheap to make huge profits at antique malls / flea markets. Beat the vultures to the sales and you get the $35 Canon 7, $75 Nikon F2 with 3 lenses, $25 Super Ikonta.....well you get the idea. My $35 Canon 7 looks new and takes great pictures. Good luck finding your treasure.
 
I have found my share of good deals also. Tha point was the guy has some never pricing that camera at 275.00 but then again you don't have to buy it. I just would like to be there when the buyer finds out what its realy worth and comes back for a visit.
 
At the local flea market, I look for cheapie Polaroids to get the mirrors. But I've also picked up to little Olympus Pen half frames (viewfinder models) for $17 each and a Voigtlander Vag 6x9 plate camera for $15. It has the famous Voigtar lens. Othewise, slim pickings. Maybe I'll try again today.

This summer, I found a Rollei XF 35 at a thrift shop for $8.

I haven't even used it yet! And the 800 is obviously obsolete but it'll do for eBay pix. (It had a card in it with a lot of pix of someone's little papillion. Weird.) Everything now has at least twice the megapixels.

O by the way, have you noticed that the new Sony digitals have Zeiss glass?
