Exactly but the "h" on the romanisation of ケ shuldnt be there. Its pronounced as two syllables. The "bo" is like "bo" in bottle, and the "ke" (or "keh") is like "ke" in kettle with no stress on either one. At least thats the Japanese version of the word...

Hmm ... I've always pronounced that the same way as 'nick off!' except with an N.
As for bokeh ... it becomes easier to pronounce at smaller apertures!

Let's face it, though. No matter how much we try it won't sound right for some of us no matter what. I, for instance, can't even fake a Japanese accent. Even to try is an insult to the Land of the Rising Sun. It just doesn't mesh with my native New England accent.
Once I thought that I could hack it in England and communicate without anyone noticing that I was from abroad. Interestingly, that didn't work.
Once I thought that I could hack it in Australia... only to find out that their accent is so completely different, as is their sense of humor (humour, that is).
And, please... let's not talk about my time in the South...
I try to speak as clearly as humanly possible and leave the "proper pronunciation" to the locals.

but when there is an e after the k it is pronounced as you would poke and not as in bottle so I if that is how the Japanese pronounce it then boke was a wrong translation for the correct pronounciation. It should have been....
