How is the UK Ensign Autorange 16-20 camera?
I am interested in this camera. It's so small to carry out for daily shooting. Is it a good performer? Pls. show your photo from this camera.

Thanks.

Hi, although I don't have an Autorange, I believe that an older version had the three element Ensar lens. I guess that you will want to know about the version with the Ross-Xpress lens.
I've got a few 16-20s (the scale focus model) with the Ensar and Rosstar lenses. These are pleasant but are not in the same league as the Ross Xpress. My 16-20 (and 12-20) with the Ross Xpress lens are excellent performers, although the highest shutter speed of a 300th is often not high enough.

The detail in the shots came as quite a surprise to me. I expected a rather similar perfomance to the Solinar on the Agfa Isolette but it was clearly better. (or at least compared to the performance that I have got out of my two examples).

I also understand that the Epsilon shutters can be weak, my 16-20 went slack on the highest speed and awaits my attempt to rectify it.

Borrowed a autorange 16-20 from a friend, here is the test shot from the camera:

Personal feeling of the camera:
1\ It's really small, a little larger than a pack of cigarette; Convenient for carryout.
2\ The aperture shall be set smaller than 5.6, then you would get an acceptable photo.
