How many cycles can the RD-1 shutter last? If I understand/assume it correctly, the RD-1 is based on a "value" tier Bessa Cosina. I would also assume that the such a camera would have the same shutter (equally cheap/simple) as found in a "value" DSLR. For instance the shutters found in
Canon 300D or 350D have rated lives of 50.000 cycles. These shutters die after 50.000 firings and are replaced, not repaired. The shutter on my 300D "died" after about as many shots, and has been replaced.

Another case in point would be the Cosina-made Nikon FM10/FE10. These SLR cameras look like (body, make, shutter dial, knobs, levers, engraving fonts, etc) Bessa and have shutters which sound the same as when one in the Bessa is fired. The shutters on these budget SLRs aren't durable. One photo-studio I know used an FM10 extensively, averaging about 50 ID sittings per day. The camera's shutter stopped working 3 months after it was bought new.

So would this be the case with the RD1? Has any owner of this camera actually made more than 50.000 exposures (chimping included) with it?
