I am going to rent out an area in a KL shopping mall and display some of my pictures for sale the question is how much does someone start out at 100-500-1000 quid or what......... The printing and framing are a no brainer as I know that price already but I just need guidance on what is a good starting price to see if I can get any takers.
When I get on the rig tomorrow I will post up some sample pictures to give you all an idea of what I am trying to sell

You ask a classic question with a classic answer - 'double the length from the mid point to one end'.
So welcome to the forum.
Pricing is always difficult - depends so much on the venue and the market. Best guide is to find out what others in the area are asking and getting for their prints. The choice of subject matter has to appeal to the punters passing through the shopping mall.
Factoring in rental costs is a new one for me.
Be very interested in seeing some of your work you are proposing to sell.
Seems a very brave undertaking , so I wish you well in this enterprise.

I'm not an expert by any means on this, but I would say in a shopping mall, you're more selling home décor more than you're selling art. Price it to sell and make a profit, if you price a 10x8" print in a nice frame and sell for $1000, people are probably looking for a name they've heard of or at least one they can Google.
If you're not famous, I'd say you need to be pricing at the birthday gift level, or the souvenir level.
Also, if you're selling to tourists, be prepared to mail stuff, as many will buy, but rather than put it in their luggage, they'll want you to mail it to their home address.
Also, I'd suggest having some *big* prints done and framed. Charge a handsome amount for the wealthier customer, and people feel they're getting more for their money.
