Show us how steady you are 🙂

I think 800 iso is the sweet spot for low light with the R-D1. Therefore I like to keep it there and go the lower shutter speed when necessary.

How low can you go and still be sharp?

To start the ball rolling.

800 iso - 1/8 sec at F2.8 (from memory) Nokton 40

Great shot John, looks very sharp for 1/8th! also the quality is very good 🙂

my lower limit seems to be 1/8th too (with my 40 or 28 lens).. thou sometimes I can go as low as 1/4th and still get a usable image:

Don't see why this thread should be specific to the R-D1.

With an M Leica or a 35 mm SLR, I have usually been safe down to 1/4 sec. with normal and wide lenses. Couldn't manage it, though, with the IIIc I had, and cannot manage it (yet) with my digital SLR.

This is my "how low can you go" shot; 1/10th and ISO1600, while I was leaning
against a wall.

I read your headline a little differently...

When I was on vacation last month I visited an air museum on Phoenix, AZ, where there was a toy plane setting among the much larger "real things."

This was a peddle plane designed for a six or seven year-old measuring about three feet from front to back.

So I put my camera on the floor and took the picture.

Bill,
That's what I thought too...but then saw the pictures and captions and had to rethink this thread...
With a RF I think I got as low as 1/15...the same with a Yashicamat 124g...
