...
  • I shot 36 shots ...
  • The whole shoot depends on how well you have prepared.
  • BTW, he selected the 36th shot for the website.

OTOH, too much preparation can cause the subject to clamp up. I bet the last shot looked the most relaxed, since he was done with the session?

Slightly off-topic: I find it much easier to 'read' women than men. Men are more 'treacherous' when it comes to being nervous, they usually hide it so well they're not ever aware they are nervous after all. I find it easier to have women feel relaxed in front of the camera. They generally are easier to babble up a bit and have them relax 🙂

Guess I'm a true ladies' man 😎

I use 1 roll of 35mm film for candid portraits and one to two rolls of 120 medium format film for posed portraits.

Rolls of 35mm? None.

2 to 8 sheets of 8x10.

(Sorry. Couldn't resist out-snobbing the anti-35 brigade).

Every single time there's a question with a specific aspect, half the responses are about some ADD-induced after-thought.

Unfortunately, they drown out the other ones who try to get to the bottom of it. This is what Google search pollution is all about.

A whole roll of 120. If I shoot less, then I play with the remainder.

35mm or digital? Maybe 6 shots. Twice that if the lighting is tricky and I need to bracket. I don't usually shoot lots of different poses.

Pollution ... whatever.

Pollution ... whatever.

I know this is a rangefinder site ... But there's more to life than 35mm. Don't get snippy when some tells their truth. I LOVE 8x10!!

The question here is not about whether there is more to life than 35mm. The question is about how many 35mm rolls :bang:

There is more to life than photography. Should we start talking about how to clean spark plugs?
