how many bags do you own and use

I have a battered Billingham 335, a Domke X-5XC and a Lowepro dispatch style bag whose name I have forgotten, I have as yet not found an ideal bag, I use the lowepro if I am carrying one camera, two cameras, the Domke and if I have a full load including the Bronica its the Billigham, but as yet the ideal bag has evaded me, now as I sit here rearange my camera kit the cat lies on the dresser lazily watching me. What bags do you regularly use and are you happy with your choice?

I only use one bag regularly. It's a Billingham 225, which I used to like but no longer do, because
- the leather looks rather cheap
- I developed a dislike against shoulder bags in general
- the design is no longer minimalistic enough for my taste

It does, however, hold everything it needs to hold - actually: it's just the right size - and it is also waterproof.

my 335 is over thirty years old and looks and feels like I have dragged behind a car for 30 years, funny enough my tastes have changed to, I much prefer dispatch style bags

Event Messenger 100 holds two rangefinder cameras with 50mm lens on each, light meter and film.

When traveling, now I use a ONA bag that holds a rangefinder camera with a 50mm lens, one Canon Mark Digital with 50mm lens, light meter, film and an extra CF card. Fits under the seat in front of me when riding an airplane.

Pelican case to keep the most used cameras, lenses and a few other things organized.

Own: too many. This is not a smart-arse answer: I literally don't know. Use: three or four at most (mainly Billingham).

Probably 7 or 8. Main users would be the Ona Brixton which I use as combination briefcase/Camera bag and Crumpler Kashgar outpost. The other bags are then more based on what I want to carry or where I want to carry it.

Let me see...Tamrac System 6 for assignments, Tamrac Adventure 9 for storage and travelling. noname Chinese bag same size as the System 6 for flashes and LED light, old vintage shoulder bag for cables, reflectors etc., 5 or 6 vintage bags rangefinder style, and 3 Lowepro Nova 1 AW - my favourite bag (oh you guessed it) - one for home, one for our summer cottage, and one because it only cost £2 at a flea market; a really nice bag for an outing, holds my X-E1 with zoom or a small SLR + a rangefinder for B/W, films batteries, fountain pens, notebook etc. - and it has a built in raincoat - only wish it had a holder for a water bottle...

i have 3 bags for when i take one camera and 2 lenses with me…almost never these days.
i have one bag that holds 2 cameras and a lens on each body…use this most of the time.
i have another bag that holds 2 bodies with lenses attached and my third lens…use this when i'm feeling ambitious and thinking wide angle.
i have one bag that held most of my minolta slr gear (all now sold) but no one wanted the bag locally…too big/heavy to mail.
another bag (that was a gift) that is a really big messenger style that i use more for stuff than cameras…but i love having it!
i have several small bags that hold a p&s type camera…

No idea, maybe a dozen of different brands, sizes, and uses. Everything from Patagonia packs to my favorite, the Billinghams. The one that gets the most use? An all black Billingham Leica M bag.

Camera bags? More than a few. Bags that I re-purpose as a camera bag? More than that. I use Domke inserts and other generic inserts to re-purpose regular shoulder bags and backpacks.

Depend on what gear I'm taking and other non-photo gear I need to lug around.

Yep.. I repurpose non-camera bags mainly. I only have one dedicated camera backpack that I use for my Sigma sd1 Merrill..otherwise it is usually one of two messenger bags or a big fanny pack w/ camera insert just as u do.

The fanny pack is big enough for an iPad mini plus a mirrorless apsc camera and one extra lens. The messenger bags can do either one camera and several lenses or two cameras (w/ their respective lens) and one extra lens. One of the messenger bags is a Timbuktu which can also hold a 13inch laptop.

I have a bunch of other Timbuktu messenger bags that are mainly for work. They can hold either 15 or 17 inch laptops as well as all the other work related stuff.. Plus of course squeeze in the right size mirrorless camera 🙂
