How many camers do you carry on your person?

One Leica.

Or (more rarely) two Leicas.

Or (VERY rarely) two Leicas and a Nikon F.

My telephone is just a telephone. It doesn't have a camera. Why would I want a camera built into a telephone?

Cheers,

R.

I don't count the camera in my phone - while I've come to love the concept, mine is the very definition of a crappycam, and the years of scratches and dust build-up have done it no favours.

So... usually two: the Ricoh GR Digital 3 that goes pretty much everywhere with me, and whatever 'main' camera that has taken my fancy that day.

Usually keep a Rollei 35S in my messenger bag or in my motorcycle jacket as general purpose, "don't want to be stuck without a camera" carry-around.

If photo-oriented outing, usually 2 bodies (either two 35mm, or a 35mm and my TLR) and usually each body has a lens on it, though occasionally I'll bring 1 additional lens.

I don't consider my phone a camera. Although it does take pictures, I don't use it for photography.

I never carry more than one camera. Whenever I go away I pack an extra camera with the intention of using one for colour and one for b/w, but it never ends up like that, and one always stays back at the hotel. In fact, I rarely even go out with a second lens. If I do, it will be the the most compact lens possible - a collapsible or a Summaron. But for the most part, whatever camera/lens combination I reach for in the morning will be what I use for the rest of the day.

Depends on what I shooting...walking around in Los Angeles, 1 maybe two...a Mamiya m645 and a backpack with a few lenses, film & a meter...maybe a Yashicamat 124g too...
Working an event a Nikon F4 & F5 with a back-up F4 body in the bag or car...maybe an all mechanical Nikon body for B&W film too...
Just going out the store or mall maybe one film camera and a meter...
Now the next question should be "How many lenses...???"
Just running errands today and I found there were three cameras in the car with me...didn't use any of them...

I carrying 2 now, a Nikon S3* and a Olympus E-PL1. that's going to be my trip
camera's when in New York City.

Range

* or Nikon S2 or Nikon D200

2 at most, film and digital. Discounting my phone camera.
The digital come with me if
- I know I'll use the luxury of shooting a lot without worrying film & development cost.
- The place will be too dark for ISO 200.
- I'll need wider lens that I don't have for the film camera.

The film camera for more casual photo walk time, or when I want to use it anyway (in which case bring both).

I normally don't carry cameras and rarely use my cellphone. When I carry a camera, I strive to take only one and one lens. I look at the world through one aperture. On occasion I take two.. usually 35mm and MF, or film and a digital.

Not a lot of respect expressed for cell phone cameras, though most likely to have on hand at all times. I too discount the phone, as I don't think of it as a camera.

Heading out I'll usually sling a Leica over my shoulder; I figure if I don't have a camera then for sure something interesting will appear and I'll regret not being prepared.

Since my Iphone is my survival-tool in Tokyo (email, messaging, navigation, train-schedule, dictionary, light-meter, on-line banking) I carry it everywhere and use the camera a lot. When going out I also usually pack a RF camera into my bag and try to use it as much as possible ...

Plus one.

Been known to carry two Nikon F3's rigged with motordrives, two leicas, or two medium format cameras. Generally when I carry two cameras I have a wide FOV and a normal or tele on the second.

As a result, for a skinny guy I have a rather thick neck, and my right arm is almost an inch longer and is over developed when compared to my left arm due to carrying cameras. Now that my body is deformed I generally carry only one camera now a days.
