How many days did you have to wait for an item that you bought from another country

Ceel it usually takes a couple of weeks. Three weeks is not exceptional. If you want your stuff faster there are airmail etc. options available. They cost a lot more naturally. You might try to ask for a tracking number from your seller. Makes you feel much better when you can check online where your package is at the moment.

CEEL, three to four weeks is not unusal from Nth America , you also need to factor in the xmas period and lead up to xmas. I have personally got stuff some from US that only took six days and other that has taken two weeks.[ not in December though] I would give it one more week then contact the sellor, if it was ebay you will have received a shipping notice though.

Unless the package was shipped via Express Mail (EMS), three weeks does not sound too long. I have one case where shipping from US to Canada took a month via Priority Mail.

Marcel, Mail is very slow during these holiday weeks. I sent a couple of Canon T90s to England about a week ago. According to the tracking service the package is labeled as sorted at the outlet point for delivery abroad. It has been sitting there since six days!! Start worrying when the camera hasn't arrived after the second week in January.

Buying cameras or equivalent equipment from the UK or the US will normally take around two weeks to be delivered to my home. This includes the usual delay at the Canadian customs.

I have had stuff delivered from Australia to Canada in ten days, which I consider remarkable.

In each case I have paid for priority shipping which normally comes with tracking privileges.

Go cheap and you will wait longer, sometimes much longer. Priority post is well worth the extra expense IMO. It is not usually overly expensive, considering what you may just have purchased.

I do not use UPS or other similar parcel delivery services. They tend to be over priced and will charge extras such as 'brokerage' fees etc, which Canada Post or USPS etc., do not do.

A month for material from Holland isn't unusual and I'm in GB!
I reckon that in normal non holiday times mail from some US States can come in a week, for other States it can be three weeks.
Earlier in the year a Registered item from Argentina took just over three months to arrive and I gathered from the sender that wasn't unusual!

I'm located in the US and have frequently waited 3-4 weeks for shipping both to and from Canada, regardless of the season. On the other hand, I have received lenses from the FSU in less than 3 weeks. Go figure.

It usually averages 3 to 4 weeks unless we're talking about something from the Ukraine to the US. That has taken longer in my experience. It's worth it though to see that brown wrapped parcel w/ twine wrapped around it. Unfortunately, often the gear has not been as good as the wrapping.

I ordered a new Voigtlander 28mm Ultron f2 from Stephen Gandy at Cameraquest on Monday 21st December and it arrived this morning - I think from California to UK in less than nine days over Christmas is pretty impressive.

I sent it

I sent it

i once waited about 4 months for a lens from australia. i'm in canada. they sent it ground.

my 75 lens was shipped on dec 15 and is still not here, thanks to the christmas glut of mail i'm thinking.

I'm the seller/sender of joe's 75mm lens. I want it delivered as much as he does.

This is my first USPS Priority International shipment. Tracking is included. So far, there is NO information on the tracking. None. Not even confirmation that the package was picked up. Is that normal?

Long waiting times when something had to come from Canada: sometimes more than 2 months! Some - Leica - stuff I ordered from South Africa went lost. No problems at all with other countries, everything within two weeks time (UK, US, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia).

I have got items from the states to here in the middle of China in 4-5 days a couple times. But then I have also had packages take 3-4 months to arrive too. At this time of year I say sit tight and get a tracking number.

Just had a Fotoman rangefinder delivered in 19 days to the UK from Mid West Photo. But I have waited over a month on at least two occasions.

Three weeks ago i bought a leica M3 body from someone from Canada.I live Holland. The question is how long did you wait for an item til it arrived.

Well Marcel, I live in the Netherlands too and I can tell you that no matter how fast the shipment method is, the Dutch customs will slow down the process considerably. I too had to wait 3-4 weeks for an item to arrive. So don't worry; it's perfectly normal. ("Normal" as in "this is how it goes nowadays", because it was way better in the past).

Hey guys, I think you're lucky. I once waited half a year for a package from Uzbekistan, sent by myself to my home address.

(Then again I once received a scanner from California in five days.)

5 years ago,i worked as a postman for 15 years. So i know the system then. But in those years the post was in hands by the state department. But years ago it turned privat and to make a profit, the quallity is very poor.

For inbound to the US it can take a week to months. One huge problem is if the package is singled out by customs. If customs decides to open a package it can take more than a month. And neither the receiver or sender has any clue what happened to the package. Customs does not tell you it is being held for ransom. The package just dissapears until you finally get a letter from a government contractor requiring a payment of $30 ~ $40 for them to do the paperwork and put it back in the mail system. I've never had to pay any duties but over the years I've had a number of packages dissapear like this only to finally resurface a month or more later. Never had to pay duty, just the ransom to fill out the forms stating no duty was required.
