How many days did you have to wait for an item that you bought from another country

Two months for an FSU lens sent Air Mail, over Two months for a Canon P sent ground. The latter looked like it had been used in a Soccer Match.

I'm the seller/sender of joe's 75mm lens. I want it delivered as much as he does.

This is my first USPS Priority International shipment. Tracking is included. So far, there is NO information on the tracking. None. Not even confirmation that the package was picked up. Is that normal?
USPS tracking can be all over the place and can depend on the individual who processes the package. Sometimes it's minimal, sometimes quite detailed, but in my experience the package always appears in the system as "Accepted" the day I drop it off at the Post Office. Yours was picked up so I assume you placed the tracking sticker on the box and you have the receipt slip and have entered the tracking number correctly? If so then it should be in the USPS system, the only thing I can think of is that with Priority Mail International they don't offer tracking on Flat Rate boxes as I recall.

I always use the pink Signature Confirmation forms for tracking. It costs $2.50 but both the sender and recipient can get emails when an event occurs in the tracking system and when the package is delivered you can get the name and signature of the recipient in PDF format from USPS. Very worthwhile.

As everyone has stated, it depends on many things. Right now, Christmas is causing slowdowns. The longest I have personally waited was on a viewscreen for my digital P&S, from Hong Kong, by slow boat from China; about 30 days. But it was worth the wait. About $20 to fix my Sony P&S 6 MP that my daughters got me a couple of Christmas times ago.

I just got my Hexanon 90 in the mail yesterday here in Sacramento, CA. It came from Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada in just a little over two weeks and was sent via Canadian Express mail. I was hoping for closer to one week so I could take it with me on vacation but at least I got an extra present to unwrap when I got back : )

Luigi mailed me a half-case from Rome. It went from Rome to Paris to London in a matter of hours. It arrived in Chicago the following day, and was in my hands in St. Louis the day after that.

Edit: It's the one in my avatar.

I bought a jacket on Ebay from the UK and got it two days later. I bought a lens from Russia and it took about a month and a half.

Peter Kitchingman sent me a lens from Australia and I received it about 10 days later.

I bought a camera from Bergmann Classic Cameras in Germany and it took almost 3 months. They're not good with shipping.

No such luck with the Canada to US or US to Canada we share a boarder be the mail system between the two counties is awful.
