How many megapixel would has a 35mm movie still frame

Movie film runs through the camera verically and shoots what we would consider half-frame in the 35mm still photo world.

I've seen other folks say a full frame of modern photo film holds about 35 megabytes of information.

So a frame of motion picture film would hold about 17 MB, give or take.

In my experience, 35mm film captures no more than 20 megapixels of information, and if you get 20, you are shooting TechPan. On average, you will see about 12-15 megapixels from 35mm film, VS 30-70 for medium format and hundreds to thousands for large format. ANd, motion picture film frames are smaller and record less information, but they average over the frames per second to produce a "clear" image. Actually, I don't really know that much, but I know 16mm motion picture "looks" better than a 16mm still picture - but that is on screen.
