I just saw this camera in an Amsterdam shop tagged: 245 Euros, is this price reasonable and what should I check before buying it? Is it also possible to use M-type lenses?

Seems high to me, unless it's absolutely mint in every way.
Check for oil on the aperture blades and proper stop-down action.
M lenses: no, only LTM lenses, but not to infinity.

245,- is a reasonable asking price for a shop. Make sure the shutter works at all speeds and the meter works. AFAIK the FT works with normal (1,55V) batteries

The price is a bit high but reasonable. You'll often (but not always) pay a bit more when buying from a photo shop.
I paid a bit over $200, but I got to see the camera. It was in excellent condition. Very clean body. No marks or dings. No dirt in the viewfinder. Light soil from being carefully used. I've been very pleased with the purchase.
In general, I don't mind paying a bit more if I can get a camera that's clean and in good mechanical condition.
These days, I'm very selective about what I buy or don't buy, and I avoid anything that's in "user" condition. I don't want or need to buy a camera that's been tossed about like yesterday's garbage.

One of the problems often found in used Pen FT is the film advance lever. If you have to do an extra (just a bit) winding after you cock it all the way once, it's a sign that it needs CLA. It can also be a price negotiating point, since probably only John (zuiko.com) can service a Pen FT reliably nowadays.
As for the price, it's a bit on the high side, but reasonable if it's in very good condition... or it's the black version.

Thanks for the tips, I would consider it if it would accept M lenses even with an adaptor, but I really hesitate to spend for a new set of lenses. As for the price Dan if I have to buy from stateside I will also have to add some taxes to the final price, since I still live on the right (!) side of the Atlantic.
The extra bit of film winding means that the gear teeth are not aligned properly...I have adjusted the wind mechanisms on two or three FTs, it's not much fun...this is one thing I like better about the Pen F (double stroke.)

It won't focus to infinity with a ltm or m lens, afaik.

There is one going in Australia tonight for around $AU300 I reckon. I paid about the same for an FT with original hood and soft case from the UK so there you go..bonne chance
