I have two 4g/b cards and shoot raw; as soon as I can i download them never filled them both in a week. Most likely I'll be shooting film doubling up with shots on D700 or d2X.

Be warned, Frank: a lot of that will turn out to be volatile memory.I carry my entire lifetime of memories (around 2.5 petabytes) with me where ever I go. The retrieval process is somewhat flawed however.

Addendum: day to day, what's in the camera + 1 spare card.
On a trip -- the lot. Though I've yet to shoot more than about 20-30 gig in 2 weeks (M9, raw).

I read that short term memory goes before long term memory!
2GB goes before 16GB .... food for thought.

There's a 32g in the camera, and I have five more 16G cards is the bag. I rarely fill the 32 and a 16g on a trip.

Usually one 16gb card per camera with a 8 or 16gb spare. Rarely fill them up in a day... except when using 8gb on certain cameras. I don't do video though... I use a 4gb in my M8.
