How much should one pay for 35 Summicron Black Paint

As ever in a small market, sod's law dictates that it depends whether you are buying or selling and how long the buyer or seller can afford to wait (i.e the level of desperation). In recent months, I've seen this lens in mint-ish condition available (i.e. unsold) in the £2,000-£2,500 bracket and wouldn't personally pay more than that.

Interesting, I nearly bought a minty one from a London dealer in 2002 for £900-ish to go with my new MP. I can't recall now why I didn't, looking at that price perhaps I should have?

I bought a brand new one from a well known Leica dealer in 2007 for around £1100 – it was being sold at a slight discount to the regular one. I sold it during the Leica bubble in 2011 for £2400 (I think) and put the money towards a Summilux. The black paint Summicron is a rather nice lens that balances nicely on an M body and I do rather regret selling it.:bang: I've looked at buying another (which is how I know what they now go for) but the examples I've seen are, at best, in mint-ish condition, and are usually in the £2,000-2,500 bracket I quoted earlier.
