How much trouble would I have...

I believe the lens on the Ricoh 519 is NOT interchangeable, and it has a Seikosha leaf shutter. Of course, that does free you from any concern about locating rare alternative lenses... :)

Yeah, and it seems to be the Deluxe model as well, with the nice f/1.9 lens...apparently it performs well. And .99 is in my price range. :p

You would have NO trouble finding other lenses for it, because there ARE no other lenses for it -- it's a leaf-shutter camera with a fixed lens.

I'd also be a bit concerned about the missing PC socket which should be filling the gaping hole in the upper right corner. Maybe you don't need the PC socket, but there's a possibility it might cause a light leak!

Karen Nakamura's website has some info about the Ricoh 500 family, and here is a Japanese page showing a 519 taken apart.

Yeah, I found Karen's. I figure that I may end up trying for it...but not for much. I can just cover the hole with tape. Electrical tape. A few layers should do it. I mean, what's a rangefinder without a bit of some kind of tape? :p

Stephanie, I looked at this listing a few days ago and decided not to bother. Read the description CAREFULLY and I think you'll see that the seller hedges on just about everything, including it's operational condition. Unless you think you can repair it, it's no bargain even at 99 cents...... plus $9.50 shipping.

Watch out for sellers who point out they know nothing about cameras. And if you can buy it for 99 cents, you'll still be paying about $11 for it.
