How much is a Mint M6 TTL 0.85 And I mean mint it looks like the camera had never even been taken out of the box
So what would one expect to pay for such a pristine sample

Thanks

I'd say €900 tops. I've had and seen mint M6 sell for €800 so €100 extra for ttl and .85
Must have the box and papers.
This is Euro price.

In June of this year I paid $1,450 for a minimally used mint condition M6 classic (c. 1996). If TTL is important to you I might be willing to pay a couple hundred more for it. But, I don't think I'd go higher than around $1,800 or so.

Here's a few prices I recorded on UK eBay this year, in GB£. Multiply by around 1.5 to approximate US$. The mint ones probably fetched the highest prices.

823, 899, 826, 700, 1118, 1120, 780, 1025, 820, 817, 951

Sherry K. has two listed on her web page. Both above the price mentioned above. She said that there were only about 3,500 made. $1,500 seems more than reasonable.

As a guide, £1900 gets you a brand new (not secondhand) 0.85 M6 TTL from the last batch of 999 cameras they made. Remember this is a 'collectors edition' and is brand harry spankers, and never out of the box.

A non 'collectors edition' sells for around £1400 - £1500.

Bear in mind though that these prices are for brand new cameras that have never been out of their boxes, have no previous owners and full guarantees.

I bought a chrome TTL 0.85 in excellent condition serviced for $1400 a couple of years ago, before the economy went down.

Two things: I believe that Sherry's site (inventory) has not been updated in over a year, so those may be very old prices. Second, that price and number (3,500) being made refers only to the M6 "Classic", not the TTL. I believe that Leica made 3,500 black M6's with a .85 VF before switching to the TTL version and making the .85 readily available.

That is true. I have made a few queries concerning items I wanted to purchase and she stated the page needed an update because the items I wanted had been sold. I'm sure that applies to other items on there as well.

I wouldn't buy a mint M6TTL if it costs a lot more than another one (if you don't want to have it sitting on a shelf) - rather one in good condition but with some life to it, spend some money on the CLA and spend the rest on film, paper or something else
