Pretty funny. Rangefinder is obviously a new thing to him... Oh well, I guess we've all been there.

My little trick is to get one of those caps with the string attached (which I immediately throw the string in the junk drawer), and place it on the lens so that the loop is within sight of the viewfinder frame, or sticking straight up. Of course, real Leica caps don't come with that feature, so you have to GASP! use a third party accessory.

i never use lens caps so this has never happened to me.. imagine shooting a whole roll and not noticing!!

I just keep the hood on my summicron 50 all the time and take off the lens cap as soon an I pick up my camera. Same with the x100.

This video pops up every few months here, it's been around for a while. I can't help but feel sorry for this guy, he has become an internet sensation just for forgetting to take the cap off LOL!!.
I am sure we've all lost few frames here or there by doing the exactly same thing....

Yes indeed, happens to everybody at some point of time but if you are not used to it - and he obviously is Nikon DSLR guy, then it does take more than a while to figure out what is wrong.

Every time he looks at the lens he has a frown but when he puts the camera up to his eye he's smiling...I thought he would see the lens cap this time...and no on in the crowd tells him...
