I thought this was kind of funny. If it has already been posted I apologize for the repost. Newbie and I'm still fumbling a bit with the forum.

I think he was using a Noct. too! That's why I use filters; so I can put the lens caps in the bag or my pocket.

Is he puzzled because he isn't getting an exposure reading? I didn't see him advance the film.

And that is why you will get a hole in your Leica's curtains.

Looks like he knew something was wrong.

Definitely. The damn camera isn't autofocusing. And they call it quality!!

Now now, we have all done that at least once -I just hope not for that long!

Part of me snickered, the other part of me just felt sad. I've been there, as have we all.

Yeah, I'm sure none of you ever made a mistake while photographing.
For sure we all made (and make) mistakes, like we all slip on ice and hit our heads on something now and then. That has indeed something to do with the fact that we all instinctively laught when others do the same

Been there, done that - but I hope I did not look quite that smug while at it...

He's puzzling for ten seconds as to why he can't get an exposure reading... obviously, check if the cap is on, but he's clearly not taking pictures. He's not oblivious, he just hasn't checked the obvious yet.

Sure i've made that mistake, but I usually figure out the problem pretty quickly once I realize the meter's not lighting up.

This is a good reason for using a RF with TTL metering!

I've got an M2, so this trick doesn't help me!
Actually I seem to leave the lens cap in the bag when I mount it to the camera. May be sub-optimal for protecting my lenses but sod it.

I once wasted half a film with the lens cap on on my IIIf. Forgetting to collapse my collapsible summicron also happened pretty often. Still I always have the excuse of no built in meter...

When I started with my M6, in the beginning I had noticed some of my images use to have photos of my finger tips while I was doing the focusing.
