I find it interesting how many threads there are here on selling equipment. I personally have never been able to part with a good camera or lens. I have never sold anything. Does that make me a hoarder, or are there others out there who are just not interested in selling stuff?

i sell often...or did before.
i have no compunction about selling my gear...i don't like having alot of gear around...not sure why, i have lots of space.
the strange part is how often i buy the same item again (and again sometimes)...i must have 'lost' so much money...

A couple of times per year I sell off the things I'm not using, freeing up some extra cash to buy and try something new, and then a few months later I sell off the things I'm not using, freeing up some extra cash to buy and try something new, and then a few months later I sell off the things I'm not using...

I have never sold any of my camera gear. I have given some away.

I've traded up some camera gear in the distant past, but not this century.
I'm in the "it might come in useful even if I never use it" camp.

I never sold anything. So I guess I might be another hoarder. It would be like selling a good friend.

Not nearly enough, according to my wife. And she's right. Instead, I trade (usually with folks here). I have way too much of "commonplace" gear that I just like, and that's a bargain (like SRTs), and that's the stuff I should sell, but which likely won't find a buyer.

I've bought, sold, and traded lots over the years in order to acquire the gear that I feel works best for me. I'm pretty much there, so this has pretty much ended as of a couple of months ago.

Constantly. Buy and sell.

The best camera is one that still works!
I sold a heap of cameras and lenses a while ago to survive ... in hindsight I'm glad I had that option at that unfortunate stage or I may have been living on the street!

Hi, i rarely stick to gear....i don´t get attached to things...although i do stcik to my m9 and the c-sonnar....that´s because that outfit proves unbeatable inperformance....also i stuck to a mint m3 and a rollei sonnar 40mm lens, the reason being the camera is just as new as my m9 and the 40mm lens suits me better that 35 mm option.
But to get there i´ve bought and sold everthing

Only digital when it is time to upgrade, i've bought and sold hundreds of watches over the years, i've done the whole collecting thing and realised as far as cameras are concerned I would just rather have a nice little group of "users" and try and not get into the trap of constantly buying and selling, I just have to make sure that what I buy is something that I can see myself keeping and is not just a buy for curiosity value (says he who just bought a charity shop Minolta X-700 - Doh!), although I would like to trade up my Yashica for a Rolleiflex one day, oh and of course upgrade some of my lenses.

I think FrankS and I achieved "critical mass" about the same time. After what seemed like eons of buy/sell activity, I have a nice setup and don't do much of that anymore. It's been a lot less nerve wracking this way.

Not often. Over the years I've sold some of the RF gear I had in duplicate, but in the past few weeks I've started selling my DSLR system. After acquiring the OM-D and some Panasonic lenses and seeing how they compare to the Canon stuff, I've decided to go lighter.

Never again. Sold back a camera body to a shop once as part of an upgrade. Still regret it, all cameras have memories attached.

I don't sell on a regular basis, I operate strictly on a basis of frequency of use, so every once in a while I sell something either because I don't use it or to finance another purchase

I used to regularly buy and sell equipment each month, but I have settled down to have a certain set of RF equipment that I enjoy using and that I am comfortable with. These days, I may sell something once a year, if at all.

Besides my very first "starter" gear, I havn't sold anything, but I did borrow stuff for extended period of times ("Take it and use it, if I need it back I tell you"), or given it away to friends (like a Jobo CPA recently).
I usually careful decide what stuff to buy, and what I want when I bought it I want to keep longer as well.
