Depends on what I'm shooting. For the past year I've been doing a ton of long exposures using the Lee Filter kit and Big Stopper. But when I travel or am just out and about I hardly ever use a tripod.

For still cameras, I use a tripod when the shutter speeds are slow.
For video, you absolutely need to use a tripod. Watching the wavering video image from hand held videos is nauseating.

Well, I was in B&H the other day and they had this nice little Gitzo Totalux
tripod and I purchased it, I like the small size, lite weight but I need a head
for it so I have to look for that.

Depends on the camera and light but in general I don't use it often enough. I really prefer not to use one as it is a hassle to lug it around.

Depends on what I'm shooting and at what magnification. I don't like carrying a tripod but for some subjects and lenses it's very desirable.

I use a tripod all the time for video. I use a monopod more than a tripod for shooting film, but rarely use a tripod for my A7.

I think that the advent of 50Mpix+ in body and/or in lens stabilized cameras will require a re-evaluation of the relationship between focal length, shutter speed, ISO and the need for a tripod/monopod.

my extra bedroom has beautiful light and also i have some stands and reflector bowls that use florescent bulbs...occasionally i get the bug to shoot some still life (mostly pics of gear)...i sometimes use a tripod in there.

As the aches and pains have increased I have down sized when walking, tripod stays in truck. I use to use a tripod on about 80% of my shooting. Wish I could afford a good carbon fiber tripod, do miss not using it.

Did you havve a look at the Feisol range? Very affordable, very stable!

I have voted occasionally as I never use any for Leica cameras.

Mostly when I use my RF I do hand shooting and don't need a Tri-Pod . When I use my Xpan of Blad 6x6 when I do low light I use the Tri-Pod . or some times a mono-pod so gives me more stability for shooting.

I actually found myself using my Gorillapod a few days ago to capture a sunset ... the ambient light was fading fast. I wanted to keep my ISO in the low range, so my M 240 computed shutter speeds in the 2-4 second range. I found the tripod came in extremely handy. I was able to rest it on an awkward granite outcrop and grab some blur-free shots at ISO 200. I was grateful I had packed the Gorillapod, even though I didn't think I would find much use for it.

I agree with what other people said above, with LF it's almost a must, with MF it's debatable, and with 35mm only occasionally.

Almost never.

I used one last week, to tweak the AF on a lens, but it's probably years since I used one in proper shooting.

I had a brief dalliance with a Monopod, but within 5 shots, I wanted to turn my camera to portrait orientation, and at that point the monopod revealed a slight limitation.

I had already answered this but Now again i want to add something again.

Although I use RF and some Medium format I never used a tripod of a leica M . But seen so many night photos are not usable as the camera shake and un sharp . I did very little night shooting and fell like to add more Low light Night shooting . So tripod is a must and can't do without.

Especially when you get old and when you have some difficulties in using Manuel focus lens it is important to know what is what.

So I am going to use my tripod and see the different.
